Dew ISD
has an opening for a Secretary/ PEIMS Coordinator position. This
individual will ensure the efficient
operation of both the central office and the superintendent’s office.
Provide clerical and receptionist services to the superintendent and
the board of trustees. Provide clerical, receptionist and basic first
aid services for the central office. Work under general supervision,
handle confidential information and has frequent contact with all
levels of district employees, outside agencies, and the general
public.
Coordinate the collection and reporting
of district Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS)
data.
Perform health screenings and maintain
student health records.
Ability to maintain accurate and
auditable records
Knowledge of school district
organization, operations and administrative policies
Ability to use personal computer and
software to develop spreadsheets, databases and do word processing
Proficient typing, keyboarding, and
file maintenance skills
Ability to meet established deadlines
Strong organization, communication and
interpersonal skills
Basic first aid knowledge

for the position of
Superintendent

The superintendent, as
chief executive officer (CEO), is accountable to the Board of
Trustees, which expects the CEO to be the educational leader of Dew
ISD. The CEO works closely with the Board of Trustees to develop and
implement policies and programs designed to carry out the district's
mission.
In concert with the staff, students, and the community, the Board of
Trustees has identified certain characteristics and qualifications as
highly desirable in a CEO:
· Confident, optimistic
leader with a proven record of building successful teams, improving
academic performance, and working effectively with different
groups
· An experienced educator
with a background in teaching and campus administration. Experience
as either a superintendent or assistant superintendent is preferred
· An effective
communicator with a sense of humor who is approachable and open; a
"people" person
· Has a reputation for
being actively involved in district activities and visible throughout
the community
· Has a background in
curriculum and instruction and school financial management
· Able to work in
partnership with the Board of Trustees and build a climate of candor,
mutual trust, and cooperation
· An honest person with
high moral standards and personal ethics
· Knowledgeable of the
bond process; experience passing bonds preferred
· Committed to Dew ISD and
building long term stability for the district
Mission
Dew ISD shares responsibility with the community for preparing young
people to live and work in a rapidly changing society. All students
need to develop essential academic skills and acquire a knowledge base
on which to build lifelong learning. In order for our students to
become productive in a changing future, the school system must provide
instruction at the highest levels of quality, distribute educational
