About us
 
Dew I.S.D. is a PreK-8 school district located in the southern part of Freestone County Texas, one-half mile from I45 on Hwy. 179.  Our current enrollment is 160 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 8th . 

The picture on left below is our old rock building which housed our students and staff from 1939 until March 2001.  It has served our school and community well.

The picture  on right below is our NEW building.  We are really proud of our new facility and excited to be in it each day.  Our most recent addition includes three new classrooms, science lab, computer lab, library expansion, full size gymnasium, and cafetorium.  A special thanks goes to Anadarko Petroleum for their support of the construction of this expansion.

                                  

 

 

 

Mission Statement

 

The Dew I.S.D. shares responsibility with the community for preparing young people to live and work in a rapidly changing society.

 

All students need to develop essential academic skills and to acquire a knowledge base on which to build lifelong learning.  All students will acquire a knowledge of citizenship and an appreciation of our common American heritage.  To the full extent of their individual abilities, students will be provided the opportunity to develop the ability to think logically and communicate effectively.

 

In order for our children to become productive in a changing future, the school system must provide instruction at the highest quality, distribute educational opportunities and resources with equity for all students, maintain accountabilities and resources with equity for all students, and maintain accountability for demonstrated results and continuous improvement.  This system will have the vitality to prepare our children for the changes and challenges of the future.
